Property Styling FAQs

The initial hire period is 6-weeks starting from installation or agreed upon time plus a 4-week extension if required. The Habitat Property Styling Quote will include details on the hire period and weekly charges thereafter.

A Habitat consultant will contact you at the end of the 6-week period to confirm if you require additional weekly hire. When collection is due Habitat will be in contact with yourself or your agent to arrange collection.

Clients are not required to be present during styling or collection, arrangements can be made for access if you are unable to be there.

Yes, you can extend the hire beyond the initial period on a weekly basis. Additional charges will apply as detailed in your quote.

Yes, you can still live in a property that has been styled, we do ask that you take extra care with styling items, including rolling up rugs (particularly if there are pets) and bagging cushions. Upon request your stylist can leave cushion ‘bags’ to make the process easier.

Habitat doesn’t hire plants however we work alongside a local plant hire service who specialise in plant packages for styling. You can select as an option on your quote or check with your Habitat consultant for more information.  Note: we do have a large selection of faux plants with are included in all styling packages.

Yes, pets in the house are fine but, we do ask that you roll up rugs and store cushions etc, so they don’t get soiled or damaged.  If it is a friendly pet, we may request a cuddle at time of installation.

If any hired items are damaged, don’t panic but please notify us as soon as possible. Charges may apply for repairs or replacement depending on the extent of the damage..

We currently work across Newcastle and Lake Macquarie Local government areas. We also work in the Maitland and Port Stephens area – contact us can discuss options for regional installations.

Lead times change depending on the market and the time of year. However, we generally require at least one week’s notice to secure your preferred date. Installation timelines will be confirmed at the time of booking.

Our stylists choose pieces that highlight your property’s best features and attract buyers. Because our inventory changes regularly, we can't guarantee specific items will be available. However, we appreciate your feedback and will collaborate with you to create a look you'll love.

Alternatively, we can prepare a quote from images available - this is most suitable for empty homes and rental properties.
